| Jack Or Jive's new album ABSURDITY showed up very suddenly and obtrusively. I had read the little commentary on Prikosnovenie, stating that this new release was written and composed in full awareness of the excruciating events in our world. I rushed to get it.. There are in fact 10 tracks that effectively deal with what is happening on this planet. We as listeners feel it very strongly through the warren of vibrant voices, complaining synths and nostalgic piano. Jack Or Jive seem to have tried and instill immense and intense emotion in their album. Each song leaves a mark in our ears, in our minds. Track 5 stupendously sticks out of the chaplet: a jolly, hopeful, rhythmic and soaring song, a kind of break, that nonetheless carries its little share of touching melancholy. Besides, most of the moods on this CD are more prone to observation, pondering, mediation, thanx to visions carried in a strange language - a rather efficient method for the realisation of our human reason & sensitivity. It is a must for all Jack Or Jive fans (let us notice a discreet resurgence of the band's older style), as well as for any person who seeks EMOTION in music, or who is simply desiring to follow his/her sensistive human nature. |
